If you seek support or assistance, submit a request, or otherwise communicate with us, we will collect your contact information (such as your email address, WeChat ID, or mobile phone number) so that we can provide the corresponding customized or enhanced services. This information also helps us communicate our news, events, promotions, and new products to you.

Use of Cookies and Analytics

Types and Purposes

We use four types of cookies and analytics tools for the following purposes:

Use of Information

We use your personal information to respond to your requests and fulfill our arrangement with you. For example, we may use your contact information to respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and provide the products or services you request. In addition, if you choose to use the Squart app to share content with others, we will use browsing user account information to provide that service, but we will not use that information for any other purpose.

We also have legitimate business interests in operating and improving our services (we have a legitimate business interest in operating the Squart app and will optimize and improve our services based on feedback), such as saving articles, videos, or other content to the Squart app and later providing that content and recommendations to you on any device used to access Squart. We also use non-identifying aggregated information to analyze how Squart is used, which enables us to improve our services. The aggregated information we use includes how articles, videos, or other content are accessed, saved, and shared. We may use aggregated information to provide lists of popular websites or content, make recommendations to our users, report usage and trends, improve the products and services we offer, or develop new products and services.

Information Sharing

Except as described below, we will not share any personally identifiable information unless you explicitly consent to our doing so.

Public Content

If you choose to make saved content public, we may share that information with others according to the options you select.

Aggregated Data

We also share aggregated, non-personal data and related usage information with third parties, including content providers, website operators, advertisers, and publishers. This information does not contain personal information that identifies you or any other individual user. For example, based on an analysis of aggregated anonymous user data, we may share with a content provider a list of articles most frequently saved in Squart, but we will not share any personal information about such users with that content provider.

Links to Other Websites and Applications

If you wish, you may connect your Squart account to third-party applications to enable additional features, such as saving content from your favorite applications, browsing that content, and returning to the original platform. You may be notified that another application you use wants to connect to Squart. In some cases, such applications will request access to certain data in your Squart account, such as lists you browse after logging in or topics, websites, and authors you like, so that they can customize their services. Before providing such access, you will be asked to authorize the sharing of any such information. Although Squart can be used in conjunction with third-party products and services, we are not affiliated with and cannot control such third parties. Unless expressly stated otherwise in this Privacy Policy, this document addresses only our use and disclosure of information that we collect from you, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of each third-party product or service provider to which you choose to connect your Squart account.

Working with Third Parties

We may work with trusted third parties to facilitate one or more aspects of the products, services, or features we provide to you, and we may provide certain personal information about you directly to these third parties.

If we or certain of our assets are acquired, user information may be included among the transferred assets.

Although we strive to protect users' personal information, we will also disclose personal information if required by law or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary. Whenever we receive a governmental or litigation-related request concerning you, we will comply with the law. When we are required to provide your personally identifiable information in this manner, we will notify you unless prohibited by law. When we receive such a request, we will disclose your personally identifiable information only if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary or appropriate under applicable law. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections you may have to a third party's request for disclosure of your information.

Retention of Information

We will retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide services to you, manage our business, or satisfy legal or contractual requirements.

Security

We enter into agreements with third parties and take other security measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration of information under our control or the control of our service providers. We use online and offline security methods to protect your personally identifiable information, including firewalls, passwords, and restricted physical access to locations where information is stored. Although we use industry-standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always be free from security issues. If a security breach involving your personal information occurs, we will, as quickly as possible and without unreasonable delay, disclose any information to you as required by law where consistent with legitimate law enforcement interests, or take any necessary measures to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of our data systems.

Squart is concerned about identity theft and the practice currently known as "phishing." Protecting information to help protect you from identity theft is our highest priority. We will never request your username, password, credit card information, or national identification number through unsolicited email or telephone communications.
